What are Paddle Derwentwater Tours?
Whether you’re an absolute beginner or an experienced paddler our Guided Tours offer a great way to get out on the water, escape the daily grind on an adventure or simply spend some time leisurely exploring Derwentwater.
Each tour is led by one of our specially trained tour guides, who are passionate about sharing their love of paddlesport and local knowledge. A tour is typically on the water for two hours. Ratio of one guide to a maximum of 8 (minimum 2) so that you can get the most from the experience.
We have a British Canoeing Quality Mark for Guided Activities
Paddle Derwentwater Tours – description
This is our revamped Go Canoeing – Keswick Lake and Crack Tour.
For those who wish to explore and hear a little of the story of the Lake. On your guided tour of Derwentwater you will explore the quiet southern half and secluded bays with the varied plant and wild life, steeped in history. See the beautiful scenery from a new perspective with photo opportunities for the magnificent Borrowdale valley with the Jaws of Borrowdale and in the background the Scar Fell range. All this a good dollop of fun.
For those with a little more skill and stamina a longer tour can show you all that Derwentwater has to offer exploring more of the lake. Make sure you bring your picnic and hopefully you will make it to an island and along the way you will have time to see the sites, learn a little of the history and spot some of the open air sculptures.
Derwentwater is a large piece of open water which has the feel of a wild area but is generally sheltered by the surrounding mountains. Our qualified guides will make it accessible to all. The route of the tour is flexible to take into account the conditions on the day. There is always the back up of our powered safety craft.
